In the production of plastic products, sometimes the manufacture of voluminous seamless plastic products is required. One way to obtain such products is a vacuum plastic molding (heat -forming, heat -forming). Unlike the casting of plastavtomats in this technology, the manufacture of the matrix is several times cheaper, say, when casting, the matrix will cost 200,000 rubles, and in a vacuum molding – 30,000 rubles. This is one of the advantages of this technology.
In addition to the cheapness of the matrix in thermoforming, it is possible to make elements with dimensions of 2-3 meters long. Let’s say catamarans, car casing parts, pontoons are made in this way. Only the rotary molding of plastic with the same expensive matrix can compete in the size of the finished product.
We will briefly talk about the very process of vacuum heat -forming. For the production of this technology,: ABS plastic, organic glass, PVC, polystyrene are suitable. Most often, ABS is formed. This is partly due to its ability to withstand large shock loads.
The sheet of thermoplastic material is inserted into the clamping frame and heats up with lamps to the softening temperature. As soon as the plastic sags the matrix rises and the vacuum pump turns on. The material tights the workpiece tightly. The reverse blowing is turned on, allowing the matrix to free itself from the obedient product. Plastic is watered with water and removed.
In the future, after the vacuum forming process, the edges of the finished product are cut off.
The key to success in thermoform is a quality matrix. Most often it is made of beech, plywood, epoxy resin and fiberglass or steel if a large circulation is planned. You can propagate matrices with the first epoxy resin.
Vacuum plastic molding allows you to make products such as: pontoons, shapes for paving slabs, promoters in advertising, plastic cases and casings.
The cost of manufacturing will directly depend on the circulation. The more products, the lower the cost. This is partly due to the contribution of the matrix for the vacuum plastic molding to each product.
