Recently, the Moscow traffic police decided to hold a raid dedicated to compliance with the rules of the road by pedestrians. As a result of the next raid, more than three thousand metropolitan pedestrians were caught on violations of the road rules.
The last raid in the capital was held on the past Wednesday, and during it a large number of pedestrians were identified that violated traffic rules. In particular, more than two hundred pedestrians during violations of traffic rules were with children.
One of the representatives of the traffic police of the capital, Maxim Galushko, said in this regard that most violations were associated with the crossing of the road in the wrong place, as well as the crossing of the road in the place intended for this, but to the red light of the traffic light.
Similar raids by traffic police inspectors in Moscow are performed regularly – monthly. Thus, over the past ten months, severe statistics states that from the side of pedestrians, traffic violations occur much more often than from drivers. According to the data provided by the traffic police, in ten months the road traffic rules violated more than 300 thousand pedestrians, while only 52,443 traffic violations were registered from drivers. Disorders of traffic rules are associated with the refusal to miss pedestrians or cyclists in a place laid for the crossing of the road.
In this regard, the statistics of an accident in the capital during the same period are noteworthy. Since the beginning of 2011, 3583 traffic accidents related to pedestrians have occurred in Moscow. In more than half the cases, pedestrians themselves were recognized as culprits.
